Sushi Dreamin'

Maybe some of you know that I love, love, love sushi - it would definitely be my "last supper" choice. But with the price of gas so high, we haven't been able to indulge much lately. The last we had was before Christmas, in Tucson. I'm really craving some today.

We found an all-you-can-eat sushi place, and I have always sworn they would lose money on me. See for yourself - I think they did. That's me with the "before" picture, and Laurina after we were stuffed.

Rancheros Snowfall

We are in Santa Fe, a town we love, camped at a nice campground called Rancheros de Santa Fe. Lots of pinon and juniper trees. It's been sunny and windy, but very nice, all week and then yesterday we woke up to a decent snowfall! It was beautiful, as you can see.

Today is sunny and it's all gone. The campground host told me it snowed on May 15th last year! But I hope we've seen the end of it, for our visit. We head to Detroit to visit our sisters at the end of next week. Tomorrow, Bandelier National Monument and Los Alamos.

Good Times in San Diego

Wow! Two posts in one day. I finally had a chance to look at some of our pictures from San Diego - mine and Dad's. He and mom came to visit us there, stayed a week and we all had a terrific time.

Look at this great picture of me and Mom at our campsite, at Lake Jennings County Park. We stayed there almost a month and made friends with Craig, one of the rangers, because he loved Molly (he had an old dog named Jack).

This picture of the 4 of us was taken at Kansas City BBQ, the restaurant where part of the movie Top Gun was filmed (You shake my nerves and you rattle my brains...) Even though Laurina had never see the movie, she loves BBQ (and I made her watch the movie later).

Our Boys

Do you know how it is when you haven't been in touch with someone for a very long time, and you just keep letting it go because every day there are more things to tell them that you haven't had time to, so you just keep putting it off?

This blog is like that. We got buried with work and travel in December and the fun stuff, like this blog, just got left by the wayside. Since we last posted from Tucson, we've been there, Yuma again, San Diego, Las Vegas, Zion National Park, Phoenix and now we're in Santa Fe for the next few weeks. We have some pictures to post and we'll try and catch everyone up as we have time!

But today I wanted to post because I was reading the Santa Fe newspaper and saw this clip:
"Michael Combs brings his fiddle, guitar and accordion to Upper Crust Pizza for hours of classic Americana."
Could it be that OUR MICHAEL has a secret life? In addition to being a truck driver and superdad, he plays music on the side? I'll have to go to the pizza place to find out (bet he's not as handsome as our Mike is, though).

And I think we have another secret tycoon in the family (see attached picture) - Has little Keane been holding out on us? Is it a diamond mine, gold mine, plutonium? Kyra had better be nice to her little brother if she intends to fully live the princess life she is destined for...
